Stan is one of the nation’s most accomplished leaders of effective education reform. He served for 25 years as President of the IBM Foundation, where he created PTECH the innovative school to college to career reform and helped lead three national education summits. He served as Deputy Chancellor of Schools for New York City, and now serves as Trustee at SUNY, the nation’s largest public higher-education system, where he Chair’s the academic affairs committee. He is also Professor of the Practice at Duke University, and is the author of Breaking Barriers: How P-TECH Schools Create a Pathway From School to College to Career and The Challenge For Business and Society From Risk to Reward.
